I just started Wellbutrin about a month ago for smoking cessation. I've noticed in the past few days that my nipples are VERY sore!

I just googled "Wellbutrin and breast pain" because my breasts hurt so bad. At first it was a little soreness but now it is pretty intense pain and that is the only thing I've been taking regularly that I've not been exposed to before. And I'm positive that I'm not pregnant. I don't know if I am going to be able to handle this.

I am SOOOO glad to hear that other people are experiencing breast pain with this medicine. I hadn't been on it for a week and I am having intense pain. I feel amazing on this drug. I have more energy than I know what to do with, which still carries on into the night so I really have a difficult time sleeping. I would love to continue this medicine, but it makes it hard to work out and just all around hurts. Does anyone know if the pain goes away?

I've been on 100mg twice a day for a week n half and I was in the ER for screaming abdominal pain and breast pain. I literally feel pregnant - breast tenderness and swelling, weight gain (13pds in 4 weeks), headaches, extreme fatigue. I have had a total hysterectomy with the exception of my right ovary, to prevent immediate menopause, so I can't be pregnant. They did find a baseball sized cyst in the remaining ovary in the ER but I have PCOS and have dealt w large cysts for 20 years. I told my psych doc and hee suggested i see a primary care doc ASAP because he thinks I'm genuinely REALLY ill. I'm obviously concerned but I didn't have any of these side effects when I was on WELLB before So I can't be certain that's the cause.

Yessss....very sore. At times worse than others. Thought i was alone. I added topamax and it made it even worse. But im willing to deal with tender breast over depression and migraines.

I've noticed two things since I increased my dosage from 150 to 300: breast tenderness & occasional midback pain (close to the lat muscles / upper kidney area). Has anyone else experienced tenderness, or muscle aches at higher dosages of Wellbutrin XL or Bupropion?

I know this is a very late reply, but I've been on WellB for just shy of a year and my breast tenderness started a few months ago when I increased my dosage to 300 once a day. But it usually is just for a few days out of the month. It's like the breast tenderness some women get around their menstrual cycle. Except mine isn't always correlated to hormones, that's why I'm thinking it's the meds, but it's not bad enough for me to quit WellB. I can handle it if it's only a few times a month.

Yes I too have had really swollen sore breasts. It's very familiar to when I was pregnant 20 years ago. So no I'm not pregnant. I asked my doctor and she said Wellbutrin doesn't effect hormones. Well I think it is. I'm cramping more and I'm no where near time for my period. Wondering if I should stop taking it. I'm taking for weightless.I do report my moods and outlook on life is good.

I've been on Wellbutrin for 15 yrs and have experienced left breast pain for many years, Drs hav done Mamograms ultra sounds n found nothing. After finding this page im convinced it is the Wellbutrin. And for me the pain comes n goes but when I have it, it's BAD!

I feel comforted finding this thread. I’ve been on Wellbutrin XL for ADHD/smoking cessation for approximately 6 weeks and have had perpetually sore nipples for at least 4 of them. I stopped taking it about 4 days ago due to drug interaction issues. My nipples still hurt though.
