my 6yr long term partner recently has been diagnosed with anogenital warts. :$ this is his first attack, it has never happened him before. i have no infections or diseases. he had problems and history with piles and had surgery to remove them 6 months to yr ago. when these new growths came up, he went to the doctors thinking it was piles and the doctor diagnosed them as anogenital warts. ive researched so much on internet but im left confused and have so many questions. my partner swears blind he has not been unfaithful but can this even be possible??? :'(
i feel so lost and am not sure what to do. I wana believe him but he would have a history of telling small silly lies so im not sure on his word over this matter.
If he never cheated, how can he just come out with them after 6 years? if he was carrying the infection but never got warts, surely he would have passed it to me whether the warts were visable or not on him?

i know i have no infections due to smear tests, and tests taken during pregnacy 3yrs ago. i also had smear test done about yr ago. so if he had the virus from before he met me, would he not have infected me if its so contaigous? is this going to affect him for the rest of his life?

he has never had them for 6yrs as long as i have known him, and he says he has never had them before he met me.

over a year ago he also came out with a cold sore which was his first time to, is that possible? i dont get em.
can the wart and cold sore virus lie dormat for that long, mayb 6yrs+, without an attack? or am i a doormat.

can there be any innocence in this for him or are these cheating signs?

what causes them to grow around the anus if sexual contact is the only way of contracting it?

Please can someone fill me in, feel so lost and confused x :'(
