Papain is water soluble. But DON'T add it to water and lye solution. You should NOT add any actives to water and lye solution. It's best to dilute the papain or any water soluble actives to ample amount of water then at during a light trace to ensure equal distribution.
While basic cold processed soaps can be used 3 days after saponiofication. It's best to cure soaps with actives for for 7-14days before using or selling.
Don't believe to some of those comments. You must have an accurate lye ammount and oil. You must use a lye calculator. too much lye will be very harmful to skin. Accurate recipe:
Ingredients:
200ml Distilled Water Only (Wilkins)
1Kilo of Virgin Coconut oil or 500 grams VCO + 500 grams Regular Coconut Oil
160.2 grams Sodium Hydroxide (Lye/Caustic Soda)
200 ml Ripe pure Fresh Papaya fruit Extract/Juice
or 175 ml Papaya Juice + 25 ml Aloe Vera extract
10 grams or 10 ml Sodium Lactate Liquid
(to make sodium lactate liquid, mix 60 grams Sodium Lactate powder and 40 grams Distilled water then mixed well, do not shake)
10 grams phenoxyethanol
2.5 teaspoon orange colorant powder dissolved in 1.5 teaspoon water
3 teaspoon sweet orange fragrance
5-10 capsules Glutathione (optional)
3 tablespoon Oatmeal (optional) for exfoliating benefits
Materials:
Stick Blender
Gloves, Goggles/eye protector,
Wear long sleeves, wear mask. Safety first. Lye can burn the skin, it may cause blindness.
Prayer to be safe. Wag kakabahan. Masasanay ka din.
Soap Mold 10 inches long, 2.5in height, 3.5in width.
Wax paper 2-5 piece measuring cups (glass)
weighing scale
Step:
Put the 200 ml water in an ice tray or plastic and put it in freezer. Must do it before you go to bed. Start the soap making process like 10 am to 12 pm. So that you have more time to harden the soap the next morning. Ok. ready your materials. First wear safety materials. Put
Get your distilled water ice that you freeze last night. put it in a measuring cup, slowly add lye. The lye will be very hot that it melts the ice easily. The ice method saves you time from wating for your lye water to cool down. Stirr it slowly until the ice melted and lye dissolved. let it cool down for 20-30 minutes. then add the sodium lactate liquid to lye water, stirr. Prepare your coconut oil. Then add slowly the lye water solution to coconut oil, stirr it for 5 minutes. Mix it using stick blender, while mixing, slowly add the papaya extract and colorant solution, Phenoxyethanol glutathione(optional) and mix it until it became like light condensed milk consistency. Add the fragrance and stirr using regular spatula. While your soap still liquid and light condesed milk consistency, pour it in soap mold quickly. Using bbq stick, pop the air bubbles in soap mixture. Let it harden for 24 hours. so Next morning at 8 am start unmolding the soap and cut it 1 inch thick and put it a a tray, 10 pieces of of soap should be made. Align the soap in a tray having at least an inch away to each other. Put in a cool dry place not direct to sunlight. Let it cure for 1 month or 3 weeks. The longer it cure the more moisturizing and gentler it would be. Most soap makers in philippines don't cure their soap so thats why its a bit itchy and hapdi in skin. Trust me. Its my pleasure to help. Hope you may have a soap business, successful!

Is there a study about or is there a soap made from carrot and papaya extract for whitening soap? Thats my study hope you can help. There are study about this but its silk not whitening soap and the process is different to my process.
Your recipe has no lye?Explain properly the ratio of Sodium hydroxide to water, the right oils to use,the tempratures to mix lye and oil and then the curing process.
Based on the lye calculator, I use 800 grams of oil (mix of coconut olive palm and corn oils) 117 grams of lye, 304 grams of distilled water. I add 100 grams of mashed papaya at trace.
