Hello, i am now 45 and have suffered with this for about 2 to 3 years I think. It drives me insane, i look like i am just about to give birth. Not that long ago, before this started, i had a flat stomach if you can beleive that and then all of a sudden, things didnt feel right. For me it started with upper abdomen bloading to the point that it really scared me. I felt something was moving inside my uppen belly. maybe air, I dont know but it was noticeably and it worried me. Now i kind of learned to live with it but i know that this is not normal and there has to be something you can do about it. I have not conuslted doctgors since i already now that they are going to say so i did some research on my own. and by the way, i too get full almost instantly, and another thing with me is my stools smell terribly, so the only thing that can cause hat from my own research is some sort of parasite or yeast. I am in the process ok taking Kolorex, i have taken it before for yeast infections and it worked wonders for me. I truly think that what i have is a parasite infection so i am working on finfinng out which one/ones and i will update you. Good luck you guys and dont give up because there is reason for everything.

yes! to add to my previous post (list of potential contributors) i have suspected parasites to be the cause. i did one parasite cleanse, but don't recall if i felt any different during or after. -i traveled to central america and mexico around the time this started for me (tho cannot recall if before these symptoms started) -for me the 'pregnant belly' is not constant. it comes and goes, some days not at all, but def phases of every day, but usually not the entire day other things to try/consider would be: -food combining -blood type based diets

I have the same exact problem, I have a 1 year old and it is ever since after I had him. I am also on a rx that makes you constipated so my Dr. prescribed me Polyethylene Glycol that seemed to work for a month (in releaving the constipation) but it stopped, I am guilty as well becuz I stopped using it so I just started I guess we'll see. I am going to look into a colon cleanse.

I read your post recently and notice is 4 years old, however your symptoms are so much like mine that I wanted to email you to see if you found relief. I had this problem for 15+ years and I am finally found a diagnosis and a way to cope with this. Let me know if you still need more info.
Thanks,
Jessica

Well, I was diagnose with IBS which is an autoimmune syndrome. Stress and depression is what really causes the inflammation and pain which are really your intestines having spasms. I notice that anytime I drank a lot of wine, I would feel better the next day but just briefly. Of course that is not the answer. Exercise, exercise until you sweat and if your tummy flattens up then is stress. I know exercise is the last thing you want to do when you are ill but I force myself and found this out. Try it, it couldn't hurt at least just to know if it is stress.
Take care..

dont suppose you had a cesarian?? scar tissue causes horrendous bloating as it dosnt allow the intestines to move freely.

I had a hernia and it was repaired over 3 years ago. I have had problems with the gauze and then gained 40+pounds I've gotten an ultra sound but haven't heard a word in over a week. I'm concerned that i have a blockage and have complained for 4ever to my dr. They tell me my gauze is in a ball but its been like that. I have joined a health club. Tried powder drinks for weight loss, ect, ect. Any suggestions as to what to do????¿¿¿¿

This issue is VERY broad and any solution has many facets. First answer though, has the potential to address this issue generally, is when you are 'bloated' to:

Exercise at 60% or more of your heart rate maximum, for 5-10 min, which is more than walking. (i.e. the equation is: 220-age= Heart Rate Max. or, for a 40 y.o. - 220-40=180 HRM. 180 is the maximum your heart rate should safely reach. Then 60% of 180=@110 bpm. You don't need a heart-rate monitor. Just take your pulse for 15 sec and X by 4 (so for 60% @ 26/27 per 15 sec.). Starting to sweat is good for most. If this doesn't help, then you can move on to more significant solutions, but it will help many sufferers.

If you are quite fit, i.e have a fitness schedule and stick to it, I doubt you will be feeling 'bloated'. If you feel you can't exercise in a standard way (Doctor's advice etc.) there are plenty of other ways to raise heart rate.
