you?
On another note, when I was working as a phone operator, I've put people on hold to go make a sandwich.
Depends on how important the call is to me. My general reaction is to hang up after a minute or two but it depends on how bad I needed to speak to them if I called them. I've spent hours on hold while trying to get tech support for my in warranty HP computers. If someone calls me and puts me on hold I hang up in less than a second. If you aren't ready to speak to me, why did you call?

2. Past 4 minutes... begin to get antsy
3. Past 8 minutes... begin to fume
4. Past 10 minutes... think up nasty responses to "sorry for the wait"
5. Past 12 minutes... seriously debate whether hanging up hurts me or them more
6. Past 15 minutes hang up and snap at everyone around me for the next half hour, usually apologizing afterward and explaining what I've just been through

hold on the phone makes me fume, especially if you called me and put me on hold right away, i'll hang up instead.

Divide all times here by ten, and that's me. Except for the apologizing part. Especially today.
