Hi! I’m six months pregnant and I’m ok but I heard something about jaundice in pregnancy. My friend had jaundice while she was pregnant and that it can be dangerous. Now I’m afraid that I can get it now. So, can somebody tell me, please, what does jaundice in pregnancy indicate?
There are some additional causes of jaundice that are unique to pregnancy, like Pre-eclampsia, Cholestasis of pregnancy and Acute fatty liver of pregnancy. Pre-eclampsia or toxemia of pregnancy is a disease that occurs during the second half of pregnancy and may damage the liver. Cholestasis occurs in pregnant women during the third trimester and it’s often accompanied by itching.
