Can somebody PLEASE tell me what’s the thing with Adipex and Phentermine? I hear people all the time saying Phentermine referring to Adipex and Adipex referring to Phentermine. They even use them as they are synonyms. So do these two expressions refer to the same product? And if they do, why does that product have two names? If they are not the same can you please explain to me the difference between them? I ran into this all the time but I guess I’m too lazy to make a research. Now it started driving me crazy. I’m very curious. What is the connection between them?

Hey Aidan1.

When I saw somebody posted this question I immediately opened it hoping I would find an answer to it. But I had no luck.:)

I always wonder why Adipex is called Phentermine but since I'm probably more lazy than you, I just keep ignoring it instead of looking for an answer.

I once asked this girl why does she say Phentermine referring to Adipex and she told me ''Well, it's the same. You can use either expression''.

I wonder is that true. And if it is what’s up with two names. Hope somebody here knows the answer and enlightens us.

Hi Aidan1, Tinkerbell23

I get this question way to often.

Here's the deal. Aidipex is the expression used when somebody is refering to weight loss pills that are produced by by GATE Pharmaceuticals. So that's the name of the pills.

These pills contain inactive ingredients and active ingredient. That active ingredient is Phentermine. It is actually a generic drug. It represents the active ingredient because it is known for the ability to supress appetite.

I hope that you can now notice the difference and that my answer was helpful.
