You say you had your GB removed. Then you were diagnosed with a gallstone attack. That would be impossible if you no longer have a gallbladder ... ?? As far as the epsom salt flush, bad thing to do. You're right. Don't believe everything you read is good for you on the internet.

I would like to post my complaints but not sure how so I just attached to the last post. I had 2 gastric by pass surgeries in my life to lose weight. Over a few years I would have severe stomach attacks but they never seem to find the problem until a year and half ago. I was rushed to the ER and after being in Horrible pain for 8 hours, they finally admitted me. I had 13 previous surgeries in my life so pain was something I had become used to. This pain was worse than giving birth on top of your gut being sliced open. They had to get rid of the infection in my body for 3 days before they could do the surgery. It went well. It was one of the harder surgeries to get over. I had dropped about 30 pounds prior to the surgery went/o knowing the cause. Recently, I have not been able to eat. Either the thought of food turns my stomach or if I make myself eat, I'm so sick in my stomach. I dropped 20 Pounds in 4 days recently, not on purpose. I have found I crave fresh seafood, not fried but even then , just a few bites. Greasy food sickens me and just 3 months ago, I loved eating a small burger from my favorite Waffle House, not now. I can handle a small piece if Very Rare steak, boiled crab, crawfish, canned peaches pineapple, things like that. I'm a great cook, all sorts of ethnic foods, can't stand to think if cooking them now. I am getting so weak I don't know what to do?? I did read one post that mentioned citrus, cottage cheese and I've noticed I've craved a lot of lemon aid, lemon juice in any form really. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated??

My surgery was a month ago, for gallbladder, after trying to manage the attacks with diet. Then a year ago I started having attacks which had the same symptoms of gallbladder but later found out I had acute appendicitis. Which was removed at the same time. Let me say that I had all the scans, blood work done and all came back normal. The missing piece was the right side always felt sore after gallbladder attacks. The last appendix attack took me to er and after a month post, I am still trying to figure out the food piece. I am on a low fat diet now adding good fat only. I'm hoping for a burger and fries soon, but that said I'll be close to a bathroom.

I too had my gallbladder out May 2017. I woke up from surgery with severe ear pain. I nursed brushed it off and said if it was still sore go to my family doctor. Two days later I did as my ear was still extremely sore. They put me on Flonase as he said I must have fluid somewhere in my ear. Thay said try it for 4 to 6 weeks. Overtime I noticed my hearing is diminished. I did not go back to my doctor I went to a hearing specialist. Come to find out that there is a nerve in your stomach that goes to your ear. Many cases involve that nerve getting hit and you losing some of your hearing . I never knew this could happen but now I could have to wear a hearing aid. Anybody else have this

Thank you for your post! Will have gb surgery in the morning and you are the first to encourage me! Your testimony is exactly like my husband's surgery 13 years ago, and I'm praying and believing the same for me.

29 year old male, I just had my gallbladder removed last week and I have to say it has been a great recovery process for me. I just wanted to post my story for anyone who is worried about having surgery and wanted to assure them that it just depends so much on the individual. The first two days post surgery for me was the absolute worst time, I couldn't really move out of bed and had to urinate into a bottle and such. By day three I had forced myself to make small improvements to at least sitting up in bed and getting off pain medication, day four I was walking again but very slowly but at least I could go to the bathroom without the use of a bottle. Day five I was mostly back to a solid food diet (salads, chicken, fruits). Day seven I was moving at maybe 80-90% pace as I was before, the soreness from the incision was still present but very distant in terms of pain. I was able to travel on a plane and lifting my suit case was a small challenge but really had no issues. Day ten I'm able to go back to my normal diet, there's a few items I try and stay away from of course but I can eat them without experiencing issues, bowel movements are normal with the exception of diarrhea every now and then due to fatty foods.

Yes, I agree with the above. I had mine Gb removal done 2 days back. I was given semi liquids post op and also was asked to eat soft low fat diet. i am following the instructions and I must say I have no discomfort or pain or any issues as such. Feeling very comfortable after surgery and I came to post here because I read so many people having problems of heart burn etc after surgery. Its just the right diet to follow.
