I am 16 years old and I've had bunion surgery on my feet when I was 14. The doctor said I my feet were probably one of the worst feet he's seen. I had to get the surgery done as soon as possible, because I'm very athletic and I was about to be a freshmen on the varsity basketball team. I had surgey done on both of my feet. (One then the other) and had about only 6 months to recover before basketball season started. It's been about 2 years now and my feet seem like they're going back to the shape it used to be. I think I should go see my foot doctor again since I haven't seen him in a year.

I am so sorry to hear this Charrcharr but I can't say that I am surprised, I think you were too young for the operation and did too much too soon, I would see a different surgeon if I were you.

Good luck, Chezzie

How are you getting bunion surgery at twelve? I tried to get it when I was younger and they told me I had to wait until I was twenty-eight, due to the growth patterns of feet.

Hi, I'm about 3 weeks post on myself, I've seen similar progress as you and yes my Dr said the same thing about the spacer. It felt odd hearing him say that, but I'm getting used to it now. Have had it in for over a week. My big toe still feels a bit numb but it's gaining good range of motion. It hurts pretty bad at night making sleep more difficult but it's getting better each day.

Wow, my story is identical to yours. Horrific pain. Shootings stabbing electrical pain. And big tie is numb. P.S. 2 weeks out.

I had a big toe fusion for DJD a week ago. Had the left one done 8 years ago with minimal pain. The pain this time has not been awful, only about 3 times at night. My concern is my foot feels like "pins and needles" no matter how much I elevate it. My Dr. said not to worry. Anyone else have this problem?
