I too am seeing floating mucus balls in my stool, but I don't have any abdominal pain at all. I am experiencing blood though. I think it's one of the four things for me; either IBD (inflammatory Bowel disease) which encompasses ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, bowel or colon cancer, hemorrhoids, or a parasite of some sort. I have no pain at all, but have irregular bowel movements accompanied by diarrhea about every third day. I am starting to poop more frequently sometimes 4 times a day, and when it comes on, I've gotta go do to inconstinence. I went to my friendly physician and got a rectal exam and he checked for hemhoroids but did find any. I'm going to a gastrointologist later this week to hopefully find out what I have. Hope this information helps you guys! I've been experiencing my symptoms for about almost 2 months now! Any comments would help me as well!

Wow. I have been throwing up today and have noticed twice this oblong white gooey box like thing in my vomit! Was wondering what that could be. I do take Melatonin and remembed being told that the casing around it doesn't always dissolve. I'll bet ya that's what's it is.

I recently found this post. It makes sense because they have just increased my dose of metapformin.
"OK i went too the restroom this morning and had the same issue as u peeps had with my stool this what i found out, im a diabetic so i take alot of pills Dr. said the carrot looking shape that came out of me was caused from the pills i take metapformin and its a big ol horse pill, hes said what came out of was the stuff the holds the pill together some kind of matrix bonding thing and what happens is that sometimes when u take the pills on empty stomach this can happen the bonding material doesnt get dissolved completely and it forms into a carrot looking oblong shape and u can have several of them come out in one sitting on the toilet, so thats what the Dr. said it was and also my father had the same thing happen to him when he was taking the same pill metapformin."

I have been searching for a cause of thick white streaks and patches in my poo a couple of weeks ago - not at all like worms. This is virtually the only forum that even mentions it. I took a sample to my doctor, but he didn't even have a look. He said it was probably due to going under anaesthetic, was undigested fat, & I shouldn't worry, and threw it in his bin. But it happened again yesterday, this time big white globs - larger than beans. Then I twice vomited white mass, sort of like ricotta cheese, and quite a lot, which really freaked me out. I had eaten an hour earlier so it wasn't white bile, I only had a small slice of half fat cheese and nothing strange or that could account for it. I don't know what to think. I feel tired and unwell, with bouts of diarrhoea. I do take Metformin and know what the capsules look like - not like this! All ideas welcome, and if I resolve this I will post again.

I just spoke with my gastroenterologist. I had been seeing floating balls after bowel movements that looked exactly like chickpeas except perfectly round. When I finally fished one out of the toilet and cut through it it had a milky white core. He told me that he knew exactly what I was talking about and not to worry. He said it is mucus and assured me that it comes from the colon and is perfectly normal. I'm already scheduled for a routine colonoscopy on July 30th so, if anything abnormal is found, I'll let you know.

I have had at least two episodes that I know of, I've read all the posts, but, the thing I see lying in the bowl of my commode is left after I flush, it is a tan, oblong pill, when I fished it out and broke it open, it was crumbly, looked like a fiber or vegetable pill, these episodes were months apart, lately I've had a real problem with my bowels, constipation, the terrible urge to go and when I get there, I can't do anything, pain, cramps, it's scary, I don't know what it is, help.
