some vitamins and minerals are considered essential to health and others are only needed in trace levels. However, everyone is different, so it would depend on the person and their health needs if you are talking about which to buy.

The other thing to bear in mind is that some vitamins are flushed through your system quite quickly and so these are the type that need topping up regularly - B vits or vit C are good examples of this.

Basically, they are all important and have different functions, but what you should take would depend on your health, age, other medication, what you hope to achieve though it, etc.
