Who wins the contest for the most text messages in one day? Do you think that you are an average texter or are you totally out of control with the text messaging? Do you have text conversations with more than one person at a time. Are you out of control !! XD What is your average daily text (ADT) number?
Hmm I never paid any attention to this. I do text everyday with people, and in some cases there are several people that I'm talking to. But I'm not sure about the number. I really can not tell you this, because I could easily lay, and I don't want to do that. But I can say that it is really part of my everyday routine.
What about you or someone else?

Over Christmas of this year I hit about 35 texts a day, which isn't really that much, but it did put me over my limit with T-Mobile so that was something of a nightmare in terms of billing. But normally I use my BlackBerry Messenger instead so that I can talk to people for free. If you counted those as texts, I'm at well over 50 a day.

Well I'm ok then, I don't text over 15 a day. And this is then ok, I thought that I needed to put the ball down a little :-)
But when I have several conversations then I'm over 30. But I don't think that this is a big deal.

There are days when i have all of 5 texts, then there are the days when i have well over 50, it all depends what's going on and with who.
I had to upgrade my texting plan from 200 a month to unlimited so i guess i do text a lot.

Well I don't think that any of us will win the contest. XD I have two sons and a couple of friends that can top 50+ in one day. Whew. I don't think I have enough people in my life to do that much texting. My fingers would fall off too. I really don't like texting, but I am forced into by my sons, who mostly text me from school. Is there anybody else out there who can top that?

I usually text once a week, if that. Do i win a cookie? ;-)

Well Ian not just a cookie but hole box. :-)
Is this because, you don't like to text or you just talk instead of texting?
I think I use my cell phone too much, and I would like to slower things a little bit. Any suggestions?

How in the heck do you text just once a week? Do you usually call people instead or how do you stay in contact with people? I guess it depends on where you live, but I think everyone I know here texts!

There is a research in Sweden about problem with texting. The research was conducted on 59 patients, and the result was that half of them had problem with neck pain, arms and hands problems. And the other half didn't have any of these.
The main thing was in the way they texted. First group often texted hunched over. Also the problems with arms and hands was related to using only one finger instead of two fingers while texting messages. This way your thumb can not rest more, like when you use two fingers.
I found my self doing the same things. :-)
Can anybody else find him self doing these things? And if you can, do you have pain in neck, arms and hands?

When I text I try to watch for these things. Try to keep my neck straight and try to type with two fingers. But when I started texting (long time ago) it was just with my thumb, and after month or so, it started to hurt me little. Didn't pay any attention in beginning. After some time it didn't go away and got a little worried. Went to a doctor and he asked me about some injuries. I said that I didn't have any. So in the end he asked me about my cell phone and typing. And this was a thing that caused my problem. Off course he suggested to me that I should try to use my other hand and two fingers, just to rest my thumb a little. Pain went away on it's own. :-)
I'm a little amazed that no one has done any kind of researcher like this earlier.

Well it seams like you had a good doctor. I really don't know why no studies were not conducted on this topic. I really didn't pay much attention to this, when I feel uncomfortable with one hand a just switch my cell phone to another hand. But the neck is another thing. I hunched my neck every time I text and also when i sit in front of my computer. I don't like this, but sometimes it just seams that there is nothing that can be done. When I notice a discomfort in neck or back I try to straighten my neck.
How do you sit when you are in front of computer or when you are texting someone? Do you have straight neck or hunched one?

Heh, better late than never to post, even if it is a necro post. (Is that frowned upon in this forum? I know some forums hate that sort of thing)

And my answer... no social life. It works wonders on the phones credit balance!
