I was 16 and had just dropped off my girlfriend after going out on a date. I was driving my 1983 VW GTI and swerved to miss a car that was pulling out into traffic in front of me. The good news was there wasn't any oncoming traffic. The bad news was that I couldn't regain control in time to miss clearing the curb, going through a chain link fence, and hitting a dogwood tree.

Like a complete id**t, I wasn't wearing my seat belt. I whacked my face on the steering wheel, and broke my nose.

I got a ticket for leaving the roadway. The person who pulled out in front of me didn't stop.

My first car wreck was when I was 16 or 17. A deer ran out in front of me and I almost missed it. It hit the front of my Beretta, busted the grill and headlight and put a dent in my hood and fender. Could have been much worse since it did slide up and hit my windshield.

My first motorcycle wreck was when I was 23. A girl pulled out in front of me and I laid the bike over and hit the back of her car. Totaled the bike. I walked away though with only a sore ankle.

No major ones...the most serious was when I scrapped and dented the left back side of a parked truck while heading into narrow parking space...my car was damaged too (though slightly)...fortunately the owner of the truck wasn't there and I quickly drove off to another parking stall at some distance away from the truck.

So that WAS you. I suspected you but now I have proof. You can just send me the money if you like without reporting it to the police. What's your address? I'll mail you the bill.
