For around a year and a half now, I've been having this white, rather gooey discharge every day, a few times a day. It is highly annoying, and makes me incredibly self-conscious. Sometimes there is a smell, others not so much. Usually it'll occur when I'm least expecting it, and happened a lot during the winter, when I was cold. Also for the past month or so now, I've had these faint cramps that feel like echoes of the cramping I usually feel during my period. They aren't terribly intense or anything, but persistent, and again, annoying.

My boyfriend and I are sexually active, so whenever I get into the mood, the discharge can increase. If I get into the mood for longer than an hour or so, I'll start feeling this pressure and pain on one side of my lower abdomen, usually around my ovary. This lasts for a while, even after I calm down or something.

Before anyone suggests it, we do use condoms during sex, and the possibility of us contracting or spreading an STD is extremely thin, as we are both each other's firsts. Besides, the discharge and one-sided pain have been going on for longer than my boyfriend and I have been together.

If anyone can help, I wold be extremely grateful. I'm trying to avoid having a pap smear at all costs, due to my extreme fear of doctors and my self consciousness.
Yea thats happening to me... Any answers plz

You can go to a gynocologist and not get a pap smear.  They would know more about your situation  (and you're supposed to go once a year anyway).  They're still physicians- they've lots of years of study and don't enjoy giving pap smears much either.  They'll try to convince you but CANNOT force you to take the test.    At least get the hpv shot, though.  Cervical cancer is one of thst treatable.

Any change or smell of discharge is the sign of a problem.  It could just be a long-standing bacterial infection (like a UTI- totally normal) that goes away a week after $15 worth of antibiotic.

Good luck- can you post here again when you figure out what it was?

I had the same symptoms.  The doctor told me that I was allergic to some aspect of the condom - like the latex or the lubricant.  Drinking lots of water helps, but not that we are married I dont have this problem.  However, my husband cannot use scented soaps to shower with, as they will give me a yeast infection after intercourse.  Hope this helps!
