I have been having the same thing for the past few years now, and i can't get rid of them. Just recently, i had a huge fever and was very ill and my throught really hurt. i looked at my tonsils and there were "stones" everywhere, and i dont really know what to do. My fever is gone, but my throught really hurts and i can't talk very easily.

hi, it sounds as though you were suffering from a bacterial infection called tonsillitis due to the description of the infected tonsills and the fever you had. As a rule antibiotics would have been prescribed for an acute case, however if there is no infection present now, this would be unlikely. The sore throat should resolve over the next few days, just make sure you take on plenty of fluids. If the temp returns or you continue to feel unwell, then see your doctor, hope this helps

I 've never saw anything stuck to my tonsils but 2 times before I was choking and I coughed up some white almost small ball material. Could this be the tonsil stone that everyone is talking bout or something else.

hey glad im not the only one with this stupid issue! but its the real deal and its very painful at times but most of all annoying. and yes the tonsils bleeding just does not feel like it should be normal. this smell is horrid and constantly feels like there is something stuck in your throat. all the throwing up i do from this has now become an issue to my immune system and stomatch. once i start, i dont stop. i would love to have my tonsils removed to start there and see if that helps because you can only dig them out on your own for so long. i dont want my throat to be messed up in the long run from scratching my throat or something else to happen permanantly. i rinse with warm salt water and mouthwash but is only getting worse and bigger chunks are setting in. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the easiest way for me to remove those ugly tonsil stones is by very carefully using a tweezer and pulling to remove the stones. Although, this is a successful method for me, my tonsil(my left tonsil only) is rather large and the crypt is very open. Hope this works for you.

As odd as it sounds, the best thing I have found is straightening out the small hoop of a paper clip and using the hoop. It acts like a little scooper and plops them out. My daughter has these things all the time. They are HUGE and smelly!!! When you poke or scrape them, they usually break and thats just sooooooo nasty. We tried everything we could to come up with an easy way to remove them. One day I got tired of her scratching the back of her throat with her nails, so I looked around for something at home. The paperclip worked great. The plastic coated ones seem more safe! Hope that helps anyone trying to think of something to use to scrape the suckers out! Use at your own risk tho!!! ;-) SometimesI don't know how a kid with near dime size nasty things in her tonsils can even talk! %-)

I had a fever the other night, felt really ill.
My toncil swelled really big yesterday, felt like a lump in my neck too.
And today at tea time I looked in the mirror at it, and there was a white ball on it, and now a few hours later is different shaped and I coughed on purpose and a a dot of blood aappeared.
I dare not touch it though, I have a doctors appointment in two days, will it affect me???
Should I pull it out??

I was convinced that I had puss on my throat and I had tonsilitis or something. After the symptoms had still not gone away after 3 months, I did an internet search. I came up with this website and I feel so much better after reading all of the other posts. I must have tonsil stones, it is exactly as everyone else described it. I always used to push the stones out with q-tips. But tonight I had a really stubborn one and nothing worked. Until I read about the tweezers. Thanks!!!! It works great and was relatively less painful than q-tip pushing. Although it did bleed as some others had mentioned and that has never happened before. Maybe it was just because this particular one was so stubborn that the crypt bled, or maybe it is something more serious. In any case I will definitely get an app. with an ENT doc. very soon!

I'm 36 now and have had these since before I was 15 (first time I distinctly remember). I can feel them with the back of my tongue, my mouth always tastes horrible, and I use Q-Tips every day to remove them. I just called an ENT guy and am going to have him remove my tonsils. I'm tired of dealing with this. Eventually there's just always a dull level of discomfort from stabbing at them so much.

I find these stones every week. I usually use a Q-Tip to get them out, and then rinse and gargle with warm salted water.

Have your Tonsils removed,as once they start giving problems it never stops....always comes back. They can also make you feel sick later on and they can cause a very sore throught and fever.Tonsils have to be removed when they are constantly sore and infalmed,as they are toxic for your system. You will feel much better in general once they are history..They older you get the bigger process it is to remove them, and the more painful it becomes.

I feel for you all. I just had this huge one sticking it's head out of my tonsil, and i finally gagged it out and it left a f*****g crater. theres still a few more in there hidden behind the flabs. This has been going on for about six years and i wish i could just get them removed.
