why am i still bleeding after 10 weeks after a abortion?

I just had a medical abortion on June 30th. I still have very heavy bleeding and large clots the size of my hand. I am so scared! It's giving me really bad anxiety. I went to the er Friday night cause I was really nervous about it. They did bloodwork and an ultrasound. My white blood cell count was up to 16 and the ultrasound showed retained pieces of the pregnancy. I went back to the clinic Tuesday where they did another ultrasound and said that I was not pregnant anymore and there was no retained pieces. I did still have blood and clots though. I have been googling and scaring myself to death!

Hi I had abortion on May 25 I didn't bleed much and then on June 25 had my period/ heavy bleeding for 3 days . Now a week later I started spotting... is it normal please help?

Hello, I have never talked to anyone about this. I grew up away from my relatives and I never got the opportunity to know my cousins. Months ago, I was introduced to one of my aunts whom I was to stay with for some time. I have been staying with her for close to three months now. Next door, stays one of my cousins that I came to know when I started staying with my aunt. This guy is married. He fell in love with me from the very first time he saw me. One time his wife travelled upcountry and we started staying together since he calls my aunt mummy. This guy's mum is cousin to my Dad. My paternal grandpa and his maternal grandma are brother and sister. I have been in relationships that hurt before and I was still a virgin. He treated me so well, the way I've never been treated by a man before. He was my idea of a man. He is the guy that understands when a woman says no. He never got upset with me. He loved me so much. For this, I fell in love with him. We started having sex. It was great. I don't have regrets because I gave my body to a man I love. Unfortunately, I became pregnant. I told him about it and we couldn't just keep the pregnancy. I'm here staying with my aunt. I never go out for sleepovers or even to meet boyfriends. I was just employed as an intern in one IT company and this pregnancy could destroy everything including my job and my stay at my aunt's place. Bleeding went for 2 days and stopped. It came back after 3 weeks and it was accompanied by very severe cramps. I told the doc about it. He gave me some medicine. It stopped after a week. Now yesterday it started again. I'm wondering is this normal? And for how long sm I going to continue like this? I don't think I'm being punished because that was the only way to deal with the pregnancy. Plus, we two are in a secret relationship. We so love each other that we can't ignore our feelings. Is this relationship wrong just because our grandparents are related? Can we fight for this love. Is it possible to have a future together? Somebody help me.

If you still feel guilty, talk to someone whether it's a councilor or a support group. Definetly look up Project Rachel. That's a group that helps women who have been struggling after their abortions.

I am in the same boat as you. I had a medical termination 24th August and still bleeding this morning. I had surgery last week to clear me in case i had any retained products. Has made no difference to my bleeding just fewer clots but they are still of a size that when they come out, i am in alot of pain and crying. I honestly dont know where to go with it myself. Ive had antibiotics, tablets to slow down the amount of blood i lose and painkillers. Nothing has worked and i am starting to just feel drained!

I had a surgical termination 8weeks ago I bled after four days for 2 and half weeks then stopped for a week or so and then.I had my period which was light I oit on my contraceptive patch and them I startrd bleeding really heavy whith massive cloths was so scared as I cant go to a doctor here its illegal to have a termination the cloths and heavy bleeding have stopped now but still bleeding lightly will this ever end any advice ?

I was beginning to truly worry myself! I know these post are a year old but this truly gave me comfort knowing I am not alone. Been bleeding for 7 weeks. Was checked but I am going to get checked again. Having clots and bleeding still off and on. Had a huge clot come out today which freaked me out so I decided to Google to see if I am alone.
