I drank a ton last night after getting the news that I had been infected with chlamydia. Today the doctor gave me what I believe was Azithromycin (4 pink pills). Don't know if it enhanced the diarrhea, but holy c**p is it bad! No joke. Glad I am off work now. When I eat anything it is back out 10 minutes later. I also experienced stomach pains and nausea. I would recommend not trying to make it worse and tough through it. Don't forget to stay hydrated, too. Sorry if I was too descriptive.

I did this the other night and ended up getting really dizzy and falling over after 2 very weak drinks!  I do not advise mixing this drug with alcohol! I was lucky to have a good friend with me!

Not true - but it CAN increase the side effects you may have - if you have side effects.

I was pretty worried about it too cause I had an initiation last night and I was on azithromycin.  I soon realized that there was no negative side effects after quite a few drinks.  I tried to do research before hand but everyone says different things.  Personally I reacted like I normally would have, even the morning after I'm feeling awesome.

Not true. Studies have shown that alcohol does not reduce the effectiveness of Z-pack. However, since both alcohol and Ztab are metabolized by the liver, their combination could cause longterm damage to the liver that will not be immediately apparent. Still, this is only most likely to occur if one's liver is already weakened, the immune system is compromised, or if one overimbibes.

As a rule, any time one is trying to recover from a bacterial infection it's better not to drink so the body can use all its resources to fight the infection. But overall a toddy here and there will not harm you.

I couldn't figure out why my stomach was swelling and I had diarrhea also dizziness. I am taking Azithromyic 250 (Z PAC ). I was drinking a glass of wine at night while taking this drug. This is my last day o ZPac. How long should I avoid drinking a glass of wine?

Nothing can be proven, only supported. Close though.

Everybody has different side effect and reacts differently to everything. Just deal.

It is very true that yogurt is a probiotic but with Azithromycin you should not have any dairy an hour before or after.

Yes. - It will reduce or stop the drug's effectiveness in stopping your infection.
