hi .. been takin the cerazette pill since jan 2012 had no problems with it so far happy and all . but met a new guy about 5=6 weeks ago not had sex yet but he did say he had a vasactomy about 4 yrs ago as he got 1 child from his ex , anyways was worried and wanted to know after reading all theses storys about failed vasactomys etc , would i be still safe with me takin the cerazette pill and him having a vasactomy after all this time???? i know nothing is 100 percent just that i,m almost 41 and to old for children now i feel thanks

It is good to exercise caution with a vasectomy unless his follow up testing proves conclusive that no sperm were found. Many guys don't follow through.
You are protected by the cerazette however.

Cerazette is very effective, although not 100%. If you're still unsure you could use a condom as well, or perhaps consider having the implant which takes away user error. Vasoectomys are normally sucessful, and if its been that long and he has been in relationships since I am sure its fine. You can read about everything from failed abortions to hysterectomys on the internet, try to not let it scare you too much. Talk about your concerns with your partner and you can always go see your doctor about other methods of contraception if you're unsure.
