Hi Lisa, please don't let your mum make you feel self conscious about your body by telling you that as everyone is different one way or another.
I'm guessing that your mum is talking about your labia minora (inner lips) rather than your whole vagina.
Be proud of you body because your slightly different and don't let it worry you :-)
