Yaz Birth Control Preciption - Should i start?

Hey everyone, I just came home from the doctors office
and my doctor told me i should go on Yaz birth control for my irregular periods ( i have not had my period since May of this year)
I am 17 years old and sexually active
I had an ultra sound which showed i had follicles or something
but anyways

is taking Yaz a good idea? Please let me know
i really dont want me gain weight / have acne o.O
