Hiya,
Most likely the greeness on your skin is called ashiness. It is from skin being over dried, most likely from shaving so much. The average guy shaves once a day six days out of the week. Using 60 strokes per shave, and that's with a single blade razor. If you are using a double, triple or quadruple razor then double, triple or quadruple that amount. Running a blade over your skin like that does exfoliate but if you are shaving too often it over stimulates the skin and causes ashiness on the surface. Ashiness is the oxizidation of the skin cell cells which causes them to turn grey and on certain skin colours, Asian, Black or Mediterranean, it will take on a greenish tinge. Make sure you use a good shaving base to start. Shaving creams, gels and foams are all soap based, which softens the beard and makes it easier to cut. These products have an alkeline base which is a higher p.h. than the skin. Skin ph for a man is typically between 5.5 to 6.5 on the ph scale. This higher ph in the product can be very drying to the skin as it strips away natural oils. Massage the product into a good lather and allow it to sit for 30 seconds. Use a fresh blade each time, and only shave in the direction of the hair growth, Shaving against the grain will cause bumps and ingrown hairs, also know as barberae folicularis. Use a good water based moisturizer afterwards. Use tepid water to rinse your skin, not too hot or too cold. No alcohol based aftershaves as this will continue the dehydration of your skin, a pea sized amount of product applied over damp skin will give it enough slip so you don't have to load it on.
You could also try adding a shaving oil to shave with. The oil allows the blade to slide over the skin more easily. You can find shaving oils wherever they sell grooming products for Black men as they are prone to ingrown hairs. Shaving creams are also a good choice as they are more gentle to the skin.
You have several options to slow down facial hair growth. The cheapest way to go is to use a hair reducer. Any salon or spa that performs waxing, usually will retail these products, They work by keratinizing the root of the the hair (hardening) and causing it to slow down growth or even to die off. When using these products with shaving it will take longer to work but be patient , it takes time for the product to work its way into the root. Do not try waxing your face, it is very difficult and very painfull. No reputable aesthetician would offer this to you.
Another option that is faster and better is to have your hair lasered. The lazer liquifies the root and destroys it. The pros are it is quicker, will thin the hair out, slow down the growth and eventually kill it. The cons are it is painfull and expensive, and usually needs to be repeated 3 or more times for the best benefit. A good Dermatologist will offer this service. Call around and check for prices. I hope this helps.
