Hi Sydney....There is lots of things you can do, The main thing that works for me is not to worry about working out just watch what you eat...eat as much as you want as long as it is health, try to eat foods that are not processed. get it. and the most important dont drink anything but water. do this for 2 months before you you will see results but dont give up. If you have to have candy or a sode thats fine but not everyday. u know. good luck. after you start losing then youll workout.

Hi Sydney (lovely name). Congratulations on wanting to improve yourself. Being strong and healthy is the goal. As a consequence, you will look better than ever along with new energy, sleep better and have more confidence. This is a lifelong project so be patient with yourself.
Unlike the other poster, who I agree with otherwise, I suggest walking as the most important thing you can do. Walk everywhere and anywhere you can, even around the house, back and forth down a hall, a treadmill, up and down stairs. Three times a day, walk for 5 minutes nonstop. For upper body, lift heavy books repetitively. Or get weights or join a gym. Muscle mass burns calories just be it's very existence. Read about this. Make this a project, to find out what you will like the most (it might be swimming, bike riding, yoga).
Food...ditto to other poster. Hope you like to cook cause you need to stay away from High Fructose Corn syrup and it is in everything. This deadly ingredient is unable to be metabolized in our livers so it just stays there..over time, this has devastating impact on health (liver failure). I do not know why they give us this c**p...it's beyond absurd but cost is surely the reason.
Bottled water...have one in your hand at all times. Always have an apple or some fruit with you for when you are not at home. Read labels on granola bars and try to get the least deadly to carry with you. Always have food with you that is something healthy and keeps you from getting over-hungrey.
Good look. You will drop weight fast and with stronger muscles, your energy will grow. Stay away from people who give you the least bit of resistance or even those who give bad vibes that make you feel less confident. Eating buddies maybe will not want you to do better than they are. competition thing.
Keep us posted and don't feel bad if you slip up. This is not a diet, it is a lifestyle and takes time to implement.
Salads (can include chicken, ham,) , popcorn, chicken filets (frozen), nuts, grain crackers, Sierra Mist soda if you must drink soda (no HFCS) try not to use microwave food/processed food. Take vitamins and minerals. Make sure you are getting enough iodine in your diet; it is esssential. Vitamin D as well. Drink plain hot tea; it will taste wonderful when you are very hungry. Large portions are okay for you (gallons) of good food. Your appetite will gradully lessen on its own. Find a grocery store if your mom is a busy person and get accustomed to stopping there for fresh veggies a few times a week. Get a wok and learn how to cook stir fry dishes which are tastey and explains why chinese people tend to be thin (nothing but veggies). Soup...eat lots of soup.
Get enough sleep. Don't drink too much caffeine if you can help it. Stay way from diet drugs, etc. If you want to have a bowl of ice cream, get Heavy Whipped Cream, make it very cold, whip it with a beater/blender until stiff, add 2 tbsp of real sugar and a tsp of vanilla (or a bit of chocalate), while whipping. Put in freezer for 2 or so hours and then...enjoy.
Remember - avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup at all costs. (Kosher foods have no HFCS in it).
Have fun. Hope you tell us how you are. Be patient, remember. This is no diet and you are in no hurry as this is a life changing endeavor. Congratulations.
