Hi. I am 23 years old and I have sever endometrious and I also get ovarian cysts. I take birth control to help treat my endometrious and this can cause some issues, but mine seem extreme. I get hot flashes nausea, sore breasts, and dizziness all the time. It gets worse around the time of my period, but I have the symptoms all month long. I've been told not to worry about this, but it gets annoying. I wake up with night sweats and I keep the house so cold I freeze my husband out. I've had the symptoms for a while and am not pregnant. I've seen a doctor and have been told not to worry about it, but no one has suggestions on how to make it better.I have gone through many different birth control brands because they tend to stop working on me after about a year/year and a half. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so if anyone has some tips on how to offset these symptoms.
Hi Viperbunny,
Endometriosis occurs when the endometrial lining of the uterus attaches itself to other organs outside of the uterus. During menstruation, the endometrial lining is shed from the uterus, but the lining that has attached outside the uterus has no way of leaving the body. There is not a cure for endometriosis, but there is treatment to help women manage and deal with their symptoms. Over-the-counter pain medications such as aspirin, acetaminophen, and ibuprofen may lessen the discomfort for women when dealing with endometriosis.
Also I found this threat that might be of some help.
