I have thin but dark bleeding and little blood clot while I'm pregnant. Could I be having a miscarriage?

I'm 6 weeks pregnant and experiencing dull backache, spotting/bleeding - my only pregnancy symptoms have been backache and sore/full boobs - and sore boobs are gone now. Any advice? I have the first ultrasound next week.

I'm in the exact same position ...pink blood to start ...today's blood red with peavsize clots.
I have a midwife appointment tomorrow & a scan in a week as they couldn't find babies heart beat.
I just feel confused and not knowing the out come is so scary.
I'm 42 so not a young mum very worrying.
