I had a large ventral hernia caused by a botched TRAM Flap. On Sept. 30, 2013, I had corrective surgery with Dr. Ron Israeli & Dr. George DeNoto in Port Washington, NY. They have a special procedure that really works. Others had looked at my abdomen and said it was too big to be fixed. These guys can fix anything!!! If you need more info, email me _[removed]_. There is hope!

I had TRAM Flap surgery in August of 2012. By late September, I had developed a huge abdominal bulge. Many doctors told me it was so large it couldn't be fixed. Luckily, I found Dr. Ron Israeli & Dr. George DeNoto who have developed a technique for repairing abdominal bulges and complications from TRAM Flap. I can give you their contact information if you contact me by email. They are the only ones in the states who perform this technique.

Would love to talk with you. I am having serious abdomen bulging following a tram flap 22 years ago. I have contacted Dr. Denoto and would appreciate your input. Thanks! Sarah A.

I have a lot of the exact issues. I had my mastectomy and reconstruction tram flap in 2009 and have all the same problems. I am constant pain . I thought it was my acid reflux, gluten, terrible gas, breathing difficulties, bending hurts, back pain, sitting is uncomfortable ,standing hurts back ,can't lift feel like I pull stomach muscle( hernia) , ibs, heart burn, difficult swallowing, moving arms pulls stomach, if I pick up anything over 5# I feel like I'm having gallbladder attack or bad digestive problem. My list goes on and on.
Dear Bonnie, I also feel our voices must be heard. Went in for breast removal and tram flap reconstruction in 2002. I came out of surgery only to end up in ICU with internal bleeding and no answers as to why. Took me 8 months to stand up straight, along with pain, gas, etc that has lasted for 12 yrs now. Interrupted sleep and inability to keep weight on seems to have become my legacy. What frustration. What a mess!
I'm curious to know what kind of answers doctors have given you. Mine seem to give me a blank look!
Dear Rose, I hope you hang in there. I am a fellow tram flap recipient who knows what it's like to just be surviving most days rather than living them. I just joined this site and hope to hear from you and others sooner than later. Peace to you Rose
Hi Beth, have tried to write you using supplied email address - no luck - says address not valid. I would really like to know what you had done by the surgeons you mentioned and how are you now. Was it successful - can you please write here and tell us all more about your procedure and success and what the Drs/service was like - any and all info would help many of us.
Kind regards,
Rose

Hi Guest,
I am Rose, I have not received a reply from Beth regarding whether she had seen these Doctors she wrote about and if so how was the outcome - I am not sure if you are asking the same thing.
If there is anyone out there that can ask Beth to please let us know the result or is there anyone else that has been to see these Doctors who say they can fix some of our issues.
Thanks
Rose
I had a breast reduction in 2001, which was great. They found breast cancer in the pathology done on the removed breast tissue. I ended up having bilateral mastectomies with bilateral TRAM reconstruction....all at the same time. Would never recommend that combo. Long recovery with skin grafts and packing of open wounds...esp abdomen...for months and months. Then when I thought I was finally healing places would open along abdominal incision and drain pus. Ended up with MRSA growing and had to have abdominal mesh removed. Treated for the MRSA and a year later had new mesh inserted. Every time I do anything I feel my mesh pulling loose. I have had it repaired so many times that they had to sew the mesh to my pubic bone to secure it. At this point I have a huge hernia right above my pubic bone where the mesh is torn again, and another huge hernia upper abdomen that my stomach comes out of when I eat. My body is hideous. I look like an apple with toothpicks stuck in it for arms and legs. No one wants to repair the hernias unless they strangulate and regardless of what I eat or the amount of exercise I can not reduce the size of my middle or get my weight below 160. I have to buy a size 18 to fit my middle which means everything I wear is huge on me everywhere except my middle. I am 65 and very active. There must be some way to reduce the size of our waists and drop our weight.
Dear Guest,
There is a person that you may wish to look into. His name is Dr Ron Israeli in New York. If you go to his site you will read how he has dedicated his life to helping women with Breast Cancer issues, meaning reconstruction, hernia issues, mesh issues, bulge issues.
I feel he is probably the one person along with a Dr George DeNoto who works along sde Dr Israeli who understands and has made it his life mission to help women.
I hope this help you and others. I am in the process of consulting with him via email and if there is anyone who reads this posting who had been to Dr Israeli - all of us would appreciate any feedback if they or anyone you know has received treatment from him.
