My father is 77 years old and it looks like he will have to pay the price for not being cautious about his diabetes. It’s not that he did not take his medications, but it looks like he forgot about the healthy life part. I have been thinking, isn’t there any way to save his leg? I know that it is not possible, but still…
Well, I would like to say there is time to do something about it rather than surgery, but I don’t think that is the case. What I want to say is that amputation, unfortunately, is one of the several bad outcomes for all those diabetes patients who are not cautions when it comes to therapy and treatment. And it is hard to maintain healthy life, but that is something he has to do in order to continue living normally after the surgery.
He's had 77 years to change his lifestyle. Popping pills won't magically make him better, he has to put some effort into it. He's not going to change overnight.
