Hi,
I lost my virginity last year, and that was fine, except i still bleed every time we have sex. Not as bad as the first time, but dabs of pink in the discharge. I wouldn't be too concerned except for the fact that about three months ago, i got urinary tract infection the day after, and it hasn't gone away. The doctor has prescribed with numerous types of antibiotics (so much that I am getting thrush from it), but they only temporarily help. Factors that I think may have contributed are:
- I had a very high sugar diet
- I started on the pill about the same time i first had the infection
Since then i have eilminated most of the sugar from my diet, drinking plenty of water, urinating after sex, showering after sex, asked him not to give me orals and even abstained for a couple of weeks, but nothing works. I still bleed everytime I have sex, and have problems urinating the day after. My boyfriend is fairly large, and we had lots of problems the first the time getting him in. Could this have anything to do with it? Should I stop going on the pill?
I don't know if this is normal, but I am having difficulty sleeping and carrying on with my daily tasks, with this constant need to urinate. Please let me know what can be causing this and what I can do to make it stop.

Hi:
It sounds like you need a second opinion (another doctor) and more extensive testing. If your doctor keeps prescribing the same type of medication for the same type of ailment and it's not working...other tes need to be done......NOW. The bleeding is definitely not normal. I suggest that you stop sexual activity until you find out what's really going on. The sexually activity is complicating the problem. That might be affecting the doctor's ability to effectively diagnose you. The pill might prevent a proper diagnosis right now, because it can make your periods irregular. Don't have unprotected sex, but think about waiting until your problem clears up. I'd like to know how it goes...
