I am currently 4 weeks and 4 days pregnant. Yesterday I had blood drawn and an a regular ultrasound and a transvaginal ultrasound. The doctor is worried because there is only a sac with no visiable fetal pole. is this normal? i am very nervous and going to see her tomorrow. I was thinking that I am just way to early to tell. Some people said that theres could not be seen until like 8 weeks! is this true?!!? Please help I am very nervous!

Most OBGYN's agree that a pregnancy isn't able to be seen on an ultrasound (even transvaginal) until the HCG levels reach at least 2500 (checked by blood test). This usually doesn't occur until approximately 7 weeks. However some women I've known had strange ultrasounds that didn't show anything till they were almost 9 weeks or even later. I know the wait is trying but unfortunately there isn't anything else to do till you get later into your pregnancy.
Had both types of ultrasound at 4wk, 3days - nothing but sac measuring about 2.3mm. Thursday, 2 days ago, at 6wk 2days, saw much enlarged sac as well as fetal pole (6mm) and yolk sac.
Don't worry, probably just too early.
Have a follow up midway through 6wk like I did.

I had a twin ultrasound but one sac is smaller at 5 weeks and 4 days. What does that mean?
