This happened to me for the first time overnight last night. Strangest thing I've ever experienced in my life! I woke up at 2:30 this morning, and then started feeling moderate stomach pains a minute or so later. The pain quickly spread down through my abdomen until I felt suddenly and urgently like I needed to poop. I sat up to move toward the bathroom but felt so lightheaded that I laid back down. I turned on my bedside lamp, which has a red lightbulb. I could tell that going back to sleep right then was not going to be an option, so I made it to the bathroom on very unsteady legs. I left the door between the bathroom and bedroom open, so there was definitely some light in the bathroom and I could see just fine in there. I sat myself down on the toilet and began having pulsing diarrhea. Every time I thought I was done, I wiped but then more would come pulsing out. Next thing I knew, I was coming to on the toilet but I couldn't figure out where I was. I reached up with one hand and felt the wall I was leaning over on and I could also feel the hardness of the toilet where I was also leaning back against it. This was not simply falling asleep on the toilet, which I've definitely done before! With all this going on, I was far too wide awake to simply fall asleep. I came to realize that I'd actually fainted for the first time in my 53 years. I started pooping and wiping again and noticed then that I had sweat pouring out of my upper body. I also could not see! I tried looking all around the bathroom, which had plenty of light in it remember? I tried looking into my bedroom where I'd left the lamp on remember? It was like when you have your eyes closed in a dark room. You're not blind, but all you can see is the darkness. No shapes, no figures, only darkness. Well, I could see only redness (from my red light bulb, no doubt). I could not see shapes or figures. My vision did return maybe 15-20 seconds after I came to, and then I noticed that I could hear something that I wasn't hearing when I first came to. It got progressively louder, and then I realized that I'd temporarily lost part of my hearing and the sound I was now hearing was the fan on my bedside table. I had mild neuropathy in my arms and hands, and actually still have it a little bit 9 hours later. My butt finally finished pooping, so I finished wiping and walked back to bed on my still unsteady legs. Suddenly, I felt wide-spread mild itching. I checked my skin and found a few hives. I checked my BP and found that my diastolic was 55, which is low for me, and while I don't recall what my systolic was, I recall that I was normal for me. I still felt a little nausea, so I used peppermint and other very specific essential oils all over my abdomen and the nausea went away. The whole thing lasted about half an hour. The sweat dried up on its own really quickly, and then I was cold. I had to put on warmer pajamas and put the heating pad under the covers with me. I fell asleep easily once I warmed up, and I slept really well until the alarm went off a few hours later. What on Earth?!?!?!

I woke up at 4am, went to the bathroom and the episode ensued: diarrhea, cold sweats, shivering, feeling like I was going to faint, couldn’t stand upright. I ate Dominos pizza last night. This holiday season and December month I have eaten unhealthily. Feeling a little nauseous and hungry at the same time this is weird....Maybe it is the diet? ...but i also got my period last night so maybe not the diet? (Ik, tmi...)
Best to anyone dealing with this issue, healing, prayers ❤️

You have described exactly what I go through. My gastrointerologist has me on
2 medications that have helped me. I still get some attacks but not nearly as many as before. The last one sent me to the hospital as I was so dehydrated from the vomiting and bathroom runs and couldn't even stand up.
About a year ago I started getting an attack - I took an extra pill, Pepto Bismol
and placed a heating pad on my tummy set on low. Thank goodness it worked.
The meds I take are Lannett 10 mg 3X day and Xanax 0.5mg 2 x day. They are
available in generics.
Good luck to all.

There is a blood test you can get for alpha-gal syndrome. This is caused by a tick bite. All these symptoms and more plagued me for about 12 years. Finally my doctor checked me for alpha-gal and sure enough, that's what I had. It caused me to be allergic to beef and pork and caused all these symptoms. I cut out beef and pork and have had no episodes since. This is hard to diagnose because the allergic reaction happens many hours after you eat the meat, not right away.

Had these same exact symptoms and it ended up being Kidney Stones in case anyone needed to know!

Sounds like diverticulitis. I have it and am having symptoms right now. They have a med to stop the pain in your intestine called dicyclomine. It is great. If you run a fever you may have intestinal infection and will need an antibiotic. Good luck. Follow the diet, stay away from grease.

I’m here searching this is been going on for every couple months for the past five years it’s just not normal but you’re right once I clean my system out I seem to go back to normal but in the meantime I could swear I’m going to meet my maker that’s how painful it is. Trapped gas in my ribs dizziness nausea fever cold sweats horrible pain feel like I’m gonna pass out. My doctor doesn’t seem concerned she says it’s not gallbladder which is what I thought it was. I’ve just come to the conclusion that was a really bad case of IBSIBS can be caused from food or stress so if you’ve had some food that you didn’t agree with you and stress an hour later you’re screwed well I’m screwed!

I can identify 100% you literally think you’re gonna beat your baker that’s how much pain you’re in that’s how much your mind is out of control you’re sweating you’re freezing you feel like you got a fever you’re nauseous you dizzy you’re trying to go the bathroom your ribs are full of pressure from gas pain. And if I can just go to the bathroom and clean myself out usually that’s the end of it all I don’t know what the heck it is. It’s been going on for at least five years maybe every other month sometimes twice in a month it’s no rhyme or reason. But I could swear that every time it happens I’m gonna die. I’ve had IBS my entire life is very well could be IBS times 100. If I eat something maybe my body doesn’t agree with along with any stress that I came up with during the day I don’t know. Because it even happened one time at 3 o’clock in the morning I’m sleeping minding my own business and I wake up to the same pain starting. And I’ve learned chug a teaspoon of baking soda and water right away grab an ice pack right away to five tums right away sit on the toilet and try to get rid of it.I’ve even learned to take an Ativan to relax my muscles maybe even some magnesium glycinate. The times I remember to take that type of magnesium it has helped a lot. The first half dozen times I had these I did nothing and just suffered for two hours at least now I know with the baking soda the magnesium the tums the ice pack the Ativan trying to illuminate any feces at all has help speed things along. And my feces just start out normal consistency it ends up in really bad diarrhea. These attacks come out of nowhere it makes me scared to go anywhere or do anything. But it seems I’ve narrowed it down to it starts under both my rib cages. Like trapped gas or something. And then my whole body explodes into something I don’t recognize

I have had the same issues for 30 years. Once or twice a year. I wake in the night with lower abdominal burning first then cramps. Then solid waste followed by violent diarrhea. In the meantime I get the cold sweats start seeing stars and wake up on the floor with my pants down. I’ve broken my nose and have gotten pretty beat up from these episodes. A couple of things I have learned. 1 as soon as I start seeing stars stick your hands out to the sides and wiggle your fingers. This forces your blood to start flowing through your body so you don’t pass out.
I moved to a new house where option 1 does not work anymore because I can’t raise my arms to the sides.
2. Warning this is pretty disgusting but prevents injury from fainting. I take all my clothes off and lay down in the bathtub. The shower actually gently massages my stomach while I lay there in pain. Then I let my bowel movements happen as they come and I clean the mess up when it’s all over.
Ive gone to the doctors years ago for them to tell me this is in my head or it’s stress that produces these symptoms in a relaxed state.
The best advice I ever got was sticking my arms out and wiggling my fingers. It prevented the fainting spells for years until I moved.
I hope this helps somebody, I feel your pain and embarrassment.
