Hello

i was wondering if anyone can relate to what is going on with my intestinal region

A couple years ago I was diagnosed with IBS -Consitpation
I frequently have extreme abdominal swelling almost looking pregnant. Sometimes when this happens I am not always constipated. I feel horrible my husband is very understanding but very rarely do we have sex because of this issue. The pressure of my bowel is do uncormforable during sex

If anyone out there is suffering from something similar and has any suggestions on how to deal I would be very open to hearing them!
I have been to my Dr. and he just tells me its IBS and just to deal with it as it is a part of your life.

I was taking Zelnorm until it wsa discontinued that was the only Med I found helped with the bloating.

hello,
I too suffer from IBS, and at first I never understood what was giving me discomfort. It seemed like almost every three days i would get it and it lasts hours, for me. But when i started to realize that my pain was due to what i was eating, i started to be more aware of what was discomforting me. hot foods, milk, eggs and some spicy meals i steer clear of. keep a journal of what your eating day by day, write down that night what triggered your ibs and avoid those foods. and if i do eat them i eat them in moderation. it doesnt mean that you cant have spicy foods, but try eat only a little bit, if you can tolerate it. also another thing is dont wear tight pants that may put too much pressure on your abdomen. because nothing is worse than feeling bloated like that and then having your pants add to the pressure. if your at home walk around, exercise, keep yourself busy. you may also want to burp some, to get some of the gas out. if you go to a grocery store and walk down the mexican aisle, or by the club soda aisle pick up a drink called topochico, and drink it pretty fast so that you get all the little bubbles in your stomach and that helps you burp out some of your discomfort! the more you realize whats triggering your ibs the more you can control it! good luck!

Hello,

I work in a GI office and you could have Bacterial Overgrowth which can be easily diagnosed by doing a Breath Test and if positive then you can be treated with antibiotics. The other poster is right, keep a food journal and see if you can pinpoint any triggers, you can also do a Lactose Intolerance test, people have different sensitivity levels to Lactose. As far as medication for your constipation, patients that used to be on Zelnorm have found good relief with Amitiza. Good luck!

If you have had every test known to man and they all come out "normal" and you still feel this bad, as I do, try to get to a Colo-Rectal Surgeon.

I had laparoscopic gall bladder surgery 2 years ago and 2 weeks afterwards, I bent forward sharply to shave my leg which was propped on the counter, and felt a "ripping" sort of pain.
The pain never went away and only got worse.
Had 2 exploratory surgeries that made things even worse.
Now I have a diagnosis:
It is either Cecal Bascule (cecum flips up on itself) or Cecal Volvulus (cecum and right intestine twised).
It took me 2 long years of pain to finally be directed to a Colo-Rectal Surgeon.
If one is prone to a MOBILE CECUM, abdominal surgeries can cause these nightmarish conditions.
One does not necessarily have to do something to set this off - although, it can be something as simple and as turning over in bed. It can be a congenital condition you were born with and it just...happens.

My advice - see a Colo-rectal Surgeon ASAP to rule out these possible problems. They will not go away with time or drugs - only specialized surgery will help.

NO ONE and NO WEBSITE ever mentions this problem - you must know what it is, before you can find out more about it, and it's more common than anyone realizes. Google these terms and see if it is you.

I now have some hope I might get my life back and can stop thinking of suicide.

Good Luck.

I was online and came across this forum. I have soft stool, yet am always constipated. I must use a suppository daily in the mornings and often need bag enemas at home to find some relief from fluid and fecal build up. I fear eating or drinking as either -regardless of the food or drink makes me bloat. I change sizes several times throughout the day. I hate how bloated and tight I can feel. No one has diagnosed this as yet as anything other than IBS and does nothing to treat it. I can barely function in public. Please advise? Thank you.
