i'm on Abilify and my lovely husband booked a summer (July) vacation in a isolated grassland area with no trees and temperatures above 30 C for the time we're there. I am used to 20s, but usually hide indoors in 30s. will I have a higher chance of heatstroke and how can I reduce my risk? He has booked a suite on the top floor and south facing for a week. I do not see anything about A/C, but am hopeful... It's really just a couple kitchenette suites tacked onto someone's two storey house.
An update. I found out there is no A/C. I also found out with my heart condition (I suspect courtesy of Abilify) I will be susceptible to increased heart rate in the heat as well. However the pacemaker clinic says the pacemaker will work fine...they just aren't sure about my body!Friends have suggested taking lots of water, battery operated fans, and twist and turn cold packs for emergency use. Also a good hat. I plan on staying out of the sun as much as possible.
