Adam’s apple is nothing more than cartilage. It is larger in some women, like there are differences in facial hair and large feet between women. I think that adams apple has no specific function, it’s just characteristic of men in post pubescent period. Hormonal miss function may be the cause for prominent adams apple, but that’s not the only kind of diagnose. Anyway, there are surgery procedures that can reduce it successfully.
