My son is 11 years old and he has been taking Adderall 10mg capsule, but recently doc switched him on XR and increased the dosage. I don't know about side effects, but it seems to me that he has some neurological problems. Please tell me is what are the side effects of both Adderall and aAdderall XR?
If you think that Adderall caused neurological problems to your son, you should immediately talk to your pediatrician. Main side effects of both drugs Adderall and Adderall XR include loss of appetite, difficulty sleeping, weight loss, emotional lability, increased tics, abdominal pain and depression. It is normal that he increased the dosage, because for kids switching from regular Adderall to Adderall XR, you usually just add up the dosage they take throughout the day and that is there single dose of Adderall XR. So, kids taking 10mg of Adderall twice a day would take one Adderall XR 20mg only in the morning.
