Has anyone been through the same thing and have any ideas? I had a total thyroidectomy in august. I did my RAI in november. I have been trying to get back to my proper thyroid levels since then with my meds. I got my period a bit over a month ago. I am still bleeding and both my GP and endo say its from the thyroid levels not being correct yet.
But this is crazy. I cant go on like this, bleeding (some spotting, but a lot of bleeding) for 4 weeks???? I cant take it.
Anyone been through this?
Hello, I am sorry to hear about the trouble you are having with your getting your period regulated. It should be any matter of time now that you will have your thyroid hormones in balance and your periods should go back on schedule. The endocrine system controls the secretion of hormones. The thyroid is influenced by it as well as the menstrual cycle. Since they all are so closely related, thyroid function and menstrual cycle can go hand and hand. This is why you are having problems with your cycle. I hope that it all resolves on its own really soon for you.
