Hi, I am a 46 years old woman and my fibroid is enlarging. Recently, I started bleeding and it really hurts me. I am even anemic because of it. A doctor recommended me hysterectomy, and I am planning to do it. Has anyone been in similar situation?

Hi, my fibroid enlarged after menopause, and it was causing a lot of bleeding and pain. It was 15 cm before the surgery. I decided to do hysterectomy because I became anemic and I didn’t feel well at all. I was feeling cold and depressed, and I constantly had pale skin, shortness of breath and decreased appetite. This was all because of the bleeding. Hysterectomy helped me a lot, and my blood picture is much better now. Anemia is gone, and I feel like completely new person. If you choose a vaginal hysterectomy, you will need one to two weeks for recovery. I did an abdominal hysterectomy, so the recovery lasted a little longer, but it was definitely worth it.
