Hi I was diagnosed with an anullar tear at the level of L4 and L5. I have been suffering from lower back pain for almost a year and it was recently that they diagnosed me with this. I also started having (last 2 months) a lot of pain on my right hip and it travels to the other hip, my groin area is always in pain, along with the back... I don't have pain down my legs at all!

Have any of you had this pain in the groin area?
Have you consulted with your doctor concerning the groin pain? It may or may not be related to your lower back condition. I would be more concerned about the chronic groin pain as it can be something much more serious. I think, at a minimum, x-rays should be taken of your hip and groin area.
I have had lower back pain some years back which I successfully treated using an electronic muscle stimulator (EMS) that I purchased online. I have been pain-free for a very long time, and I consider myself cured.

They did a Ct scan of pelvis and organs, everything was normal. Chiropractor did an x-ray of hips (he thinks the tear on the discs has something to do with the hip and groin pain) Tomorrow I'm getting an MRI done on the hips!
The xray taken at the chiro shows like an oval shape tiny shadow on the pelvis, he said it looks like a bone island... He was going to send the xray to the radiologist for a report.
MRI of lumbar spine showed a tear at the level of L4 and L5 and it explains why I have been in so much pain from my lower back. I'm only 23 and I used to jog everyday. Was diagnosed with a tilted pelvis and leglength discrepancy.
I'm not sure if all is related!

will know more after MRI results of the hips!

I am inclined to suspect that the tilted pelvis and the leg length discrepancy may have been the causes of your lumbar annular tear since you are a jogging enthusiast. Jogging and running can be hard on your knees, hips and lower back. The rapid deceleration of your feet upon contact with the ground can easily translate into hundreds of pounds of force on your joints and intervertebral discs. Any unevenness in your skeletal structure can further intensify this force. Apparently your knees and hips are holding up quite well, but not your lower back. Cycling and swimming may have been gentler alternatives for your condition. Please keep us posted. The information that you provide will be helpful to others with similar conditions.
