I (literally) feel all of your pains. I have an annular tear at L5-S1 from, get this, a sneeze. I was in the best shape of my life - run and work out almost every day. No problems. Ran the Marine Corps marathon 2 years ago. Now, I sneexed and have had back pain and leg numbness for 3 months now. Can barely get through a day of work. I've tried steroids, injections, etc. The only thing that seems to work for me is valium (diazapam), as well as an antiinflammatory. Recommend trying these if you have not already done so. Also, go to physical therapy and do the exercises they tell you. Good luck to you all!
Did the laser help you?? I know this is old but where did you go??
I have been diagnosed with an annular tear in my lumbar spine, agonising pain, muscle stiffness that escalated from fear and on constant painmeds for several months. I could hardly move at all, not sit, not drive, not slerp, and I was crying all the time...I tried several different treatments, but what's made all the difference is seeing a PT who prescribed gentle McKenzie exercises...in the beginning it was agonising with experience of 'electrical storms' throughout my body, but being very careful and working within my limits, I now have much increased mobility, significantly less pain - which used to be burning down the front of my thighs and glutes. so extending the spine in this way had made a HUGE difference to the quality of my life... I hope this helps!
After working 15+ years in construction I also have been diagnosed with annular tear in L4 and bulging L5. My doctor also told me there is nothing can be done. He told me to find P.T. and to strengthen my core. After 6 chiropractor visits, my last visit made my pain even worse. I take 50mg Tramadol but it only works for about 5-6hrs. Pretty miserable life and basically no sex life ( back pain is horrible after sex). People who live without back pain are really lucky ones.
I can hardly walk much at all with my back hurting all the time or do my work
Simple direct question. Can a total hysterectomy surgery cause Annular tears? I do not have degenerative discs.
