My 8 year old has said for years that he hates chicken. He says it makes his throat "dry". When you're cooking for 5 kids, my response is too bad! Last night he broke out in hives about 30 mins after eating homemade chicken tortilla soup. Benedryl worked fine. Fried chicken tenders don't bother him. He loves eggs. I had no idea someone could be allergic to chicken. I will be getting him checked by an allergist.

I just discovered I am "allergic to chicken" also, after eating it for years. I eat it, testing it again, get diarrhea, nausea or vomiting, intestinal cramps, etc. Not eat chicken, am ok.
Also a celiac, also allergic to dairy, allergic to latex, hence the reason you are allergic to bananas, Doctor told me I am allergic to bananas & also Mangos, Avacados, etc., in the latex family. Definity latex gloves & tapes. Allergic to Imidazolydnyl Urea, & related chemicals, food additives, colorings, flavors, MSG, etc. My diet is pure hell! Especially NO ICE CREAM!!!!

So, second time in two months I"ve had symptoms like food poisoning after eating chicken. I'll try again in a few weeks adn see if I have the same problem... thankx for sharing ppl. I've also developed cieliac disease(gluten allergy), lactose intollerance, avocados make my throat feel tight, bananas do the same sometimes. sugar, melons, particularly watermelon, peanut butter... apparently there are certain foods that have similar proteitns to others so you can develop allergies to them. corn is similar to gluten so if I eat to much to often same reaction... and things like rag weed are like to melon allergies etc.

Many years ago I had allergy tests and tested highly allergic to chicken and chicken stock. I have just avoided it ever since. Growing up, I was sick alot with mild stomach issues and diarrhea. When I quit eating chicken I was just fine!! I have to really ask at restaurants about soups and sauces. Now if I get any chicken, I get welts around my mouth and throw up for a day or two; not really my favorite. Any other poultry or eggs is fine for me.

Hello all! Being allergic to chicken seems to be a total shocker to everyone. You are not alone.. I too have been allergic to chicken since about 2013 or so since I started to get rashes on my body (hips, stomach, sides, back, etc.). It was about 2015 that I started to realize that after eating chicken immediately I would get get rashes on my face, neck and ears and got this sudden burning sensation all over. After these 2 specific occasions I rushed to the Emergency Room and all they could tell me was that I could have possibly had food poisoning from something that was in m food. I then decided to check out an allergist and got the drop & scratch test done on my back and arms and sure enough, Chicken and millions of other things showed up as me being allergic to. Since then I haven't ate chicken but have tried to give it a chance 2 times in the past 3 months, and guess what ya'll, my body reacted to rashes on my body again. During the time I was not consuming chicken, my allergist prescribed MONTELUKAST as my medication and it work and got rid of my stubborn rashes. I'm starting to take the medication again and I will absolutely not try to eat chicken again for a couple of years. I hate this! I miss eating chicken :(

I have been getting severe gut cramping and spasms and severe diarrhea after eating chicken. I am understanding now that I have an intolerance for chicken. I don't seem to have the same problem with eggs but I won't be surprised if I do become intolerant to eggs also. I tend not to say anything unless someone tries to serve it to me. I just say I have an allergy to chicken and leave as that. I occasionally get strange looks but it's not as bad as the consequences.

Interesting! I have been questioning my tolerance for cooked chicken. Seems no matter how prepared it reeps havoc on my digestive system. Ive had several intestinal surgeries and after my last one few years back this seems to have begun.

My reaction to chicken began around 2010 when I was in my mid-40s. It took a while for me to realize it was the chicken. So far, my only reaction is projectile vomiting which happens immediately after I finish eating. The odd thing is, I can eat dark meat chicken without any problem.

I am allergic to all poultry. Not eggs. Have to read all labels. They put chicken in everything. Started off with rash and acid reflux. Last time cheek and throat swelled up.
Best thing I've found to take is benedryl but allow time for it to get in system. Hour and half or so.
