People do look at you like you are crazy when you tell them you can't eat chicken or anything cooked with chicken. I miss out on a lot of chicken stews and eating wings with friends. Sometimes I crave wings so much I will take the chance on eating them and suffering the consequences.
I also have you d I get the same pain from eating bananas. Don't know what the two have in common, it's just weird!

It’s something in the store bought chicken. I will break out in hives have message to poisoning within 15 minutes I can eat I was chicken and Not have 1 ounce of problems

I now need an epi pen im highly allergic to chicken turkey duck i can eat eggs thou.
I can not eat at bbqs if chicken has been cooked on bbq even once its been cleaned. In restaurants i have to ask for my meat to be cooked in a clean pan and avoid most take away places. I once ordered a ham and cheese pizza and ended ip in hospital as there must have been chicken either cooked close by or same gloves used to do different pizzas. In my case there is nothing i can do except avoid at all costs. I tried organic chicken about 10 years ago i got 3 bites into it before reaction hit in. Its not a common allergy people are always surprised when i tell them and no one really understands just how deadly it can be (in my case anyways)

For the most part I have successfully avoided chicken for the last 25 years but totally understand how limiting it is to eat out. I will only eat a steak and baked potato unless I know the person cooking the food understands the problem. Most people think you're nuts and don't take you seriously. Sauces, soups, totally out of the question. Even veggies are often cooked in chicken broth to enhance the flavor. Mashed potatoes- chicken broth is often mixed in. Chinese food- forget it. Fried food - forget it, chicken fried in the oil transfers to other foods.
I mostly eat at home and make my own turkey stock for all gravies and sauces. I also use vegetable stock. There's also textured vegetable protein that tastes like chicken that I use a lot. It's a very frustrating allergy but I've become a very good cook and even make my own Chinese food because I have had no choice. If you have this allergy you absolutely must not eat chicken or it will get worse and you may become allergic to related things- like eggs and other poultry.
