Hi,
I’ve been prescribed flagyl to treat bacterial vaginosis and it’s now my 5th day I’m on this medication. Ever since I took the first tablet I’ve been experiencing horrible side effects, from dizzy spells to nausea and when I called in my pharmacy they told me to continue taking the medication and that it’s relatively common thing to happen.
What has gotten me worried though is that last few days I’ve been having really strange vivid dreams and now my left side, face and hand, are tingling. It’s really a strange sensation and I’m wondering is this normal on Flagyl, too?
Hi,
I just finished 10 days course of Flagyl for tooth infection and your post pretty much sounds like what I would say while I was on this awful antibiotic. It is effective, I'll give it that and it did save my tooth, but the 10 days I was on it were horrible, to put it mildly. Flagyl caused me to experience tingling and numbing in my left hand, too and I was constantly sleepy and dizzy on it.
And I definitely had very vivid dreams, too, even a real nightmare one night. So I guess it's fairly common to have these side effects on Flagyl, but focus on the fact that it definitely will do it's job and treat the infection.
Hello,
you've described exactly what I'm going through right now on Flagyl for bacterial vaginosis. I'm having vivid dreams, tingling and everything and I'm only on my third day of treatment. I'm taking oral Flagyl, but I've just read that there are also Flagyl vaginal tablets that, at least to me, sound more effective since they fight the infection on the spot, and I'm going to ask my doctor for a new prescription, so I don't have to take oral Flagyl anymore, hopefully. I assume you're done with your treatment by now - how long it took for these side effects to completely disappear?
