Are Athletes Drinking Too Much Between Workouts?
Good question, why does drinking and running go hand-in-hand. Most people think of runners as very health conscious people. But if you've ever been to a race in Buffalo, you can see a lot of drinkers at the post race party. In fact if they don't offer free beer at the post race party, then nobody runs those races. In State College, PA all the hashers arn't ever runners there out-of-shape drinkers. I think it's because a beer never tastes as good as it does after finishing a race or a good long run.
Its hard to imagine that you can drink too much water. You are always told by coaches to drink as much water as possible.
One to two hours before your workout, drink 15 to 20 ounces of water.
