Hello! I am 21 years old girl and I am Asian. What I don’t like about my eyes is that like many other Asiats have a very deep crease, and I don’t like it. I want to have it changed by an asian blepharoplasty surgery, but still keep my asiat look. I am also looking for an Asiat doctor, bc I believe they can understand the problem better than white or black doctors.

Hi there! I am 26, also Asian, and have done asian blepharoplasty by a doctor who was not Asiat. I don’t think that having an Asiat doctor for this procedure is so important. I believe that the training, experience, skill and reputation are more important. I found a very good doctor in the Orange County in Los Angeles. I am very satisfied with his work. His name is Dr. Frank Meronk.

hey, I'm also a 21 year old asian gal.
I've actually had 2 blepharoplasty operations, I'm 3 months post op on my second.
Ther first one was done by a white doctor, I had it done very low and in a arcing form rather than parallel with sutures and no incision.
The recovery was literally 2 weeks and I looked a little puffy but not at all done and it only stayed for a year. 4 years later, the fold started fading and coming down.
After the first operation it was an extremely fast recovery, but also so light a fold that it didn't really stay right.
My second operation I expected the same fast recovery, and this was done by an asian doctor, and a bit higher.
He used the incision method and didn't do a arcing crease, but a parallel one.
It certainly take 2 weeks to look normal again.
I'm at 3 months and still look fairly puffy, the scars are a pinkish red unless I wear makeup.
It's uncomfortable even going in public because people will stare because the surgery is obvious under certain harsh lights.
I know once all swelling subsides it'll look fine, but this is an extremely annoyingly long recovery.
Be certain you want to do this.
It's said at 6 months for most people the scar will fade to white and the puffiness will reach a normal look.
They really shouldn't say that full recovery will be at 2 weeks, when really it takes a year to have the resulting look.
