ASMR has been around for ages. I'm from Ireland and being 40 something Ive listened my whole life to softly spoken words of various sorts. The spoken topic doesn't matter really...its the feeling you get from the tone of the words that creates the good feeling as such. That defines ASMR I think. Anyway, moving on...

In times past I remember listening to Arthur Negus on BBCs 'Antique Roadshow'...  sometime 1970s  I guess. In doing so I became almost comatose-d by the sheer relaxation of his voice. My mother used to comment on his voice also. Most of the time he was talking about Victorian furniture or carriage clocks I believe. Anyway, people talk about various noises and sounds with this ASMR thing. I believe it is the particular sound of a voice that triggers the tingling. In Arthur's case it was a a slightly slurred ticking noise throughout his sentences that did it for me at least. Later in life Ive heard this same sound in different speakers with the same effect - Bob Ross (artist man), and more lately, Lita Stone on the You Tube thing. No whispering nonsense with these folks! Just cool vibes without explanation. Keep relaxing whatever happens L:_)
