My husband fell and broke his back and crushed his 10th vertebrae. My question is, now that we know the bone is healing and he can walk, he is having severe pain in his muscles and ribs. Also having problems urinating or holding his hands out in front of him or above him. The weird thing is, is that he can ride a snowmobile for a little while and it doesn't bother him but cooking dinner or folding clothes (for instance) really bothers his back. It seems like if he's not leaning on something or standing in one spot for a long time that this pain acts up. What do you think the problem might be or has anyone else experienced this before?
The vertebrae or surrounding bones may not have healed properly over time. It could be that they healed where they broke, which isn't where they're supposed to be. I suggest you see the doctor that treated you, get an x-ray, and talk to them about possible problems and treatment.
