Hi, I had TMJ surgery a year ago, and everything was fine. I was recovering, and going to physical therapy. However, I noticed two weeks ago that my bad symptoms from TMJ have returned. I feel pain again, and difficulties chewing. What should I do?

Hi, it happened to me twice, so I know exactly how you feel. It all started when I injured my temporomandibular joint in a car accident. First, they tried to reconstruct my jaw using my body tissue. Soon after the surgery, my bad symptoms from TMJ have returned. My doctor decided to try with metal implants. I didn’t like how it sounded, but I had no other option. A doctor explained me that these metal implants will be made especially for me- to fit my TMJ anatomy. The surgery ended without complications, and I thought that I would finally have some peace. Unfortunately, bad symptoms from TMJ have returned for the second time.
