Yes it affects the ph in the vagina. I quit taking it 8 months ago because of that and 2 days later all was great. Starting it again today but scared of this happening again..

Hallelujah!!! I’m just about to end my dose from these last couple months.. and holy hell! I thought I lost a tampon in there on a drunken night or something. And it just clicked because I’ve been tapering myself off this last month… and the smell is so much better! Never in my freaking life has this happened! Made my sex life so uncomfortable with my fiancé of 10 years. Happy that’s gunna stop phew, I swear I thought something was wrong :(

Onions smell in the lady part ? Because lord that’s all I smell and been on this pill for 2/3 month but the last month is when the odor came in especially in my private part especially if i sweat more the onion smell gets stronger !

Wow! I've been googling this topic & kept finding conflicting information, but running into this thread has confirmed everything I was suspecting all along. I didn't notice a change in the vaginal area until I started the phentermine. I've had BV before & I kept thinking to myself it seems close to BV, but slightly different then what I remembered when I had it. To me, BV smells stronger and more fishy. This smell is just stinky but not necessarily fishy. Almost like what you smell at the onset of BV. I've been so embarrassed around my husband when he wants to be intimate. I never use to have to wash before sex, but now I want dare go into the bedroom without washing down there 1st. Thank you to all the ladies that spoke up about this to prove that we're not crazy! Can't wait for this to go away. Right now I'm using AZO boric acid pills at night and taking probiotic/prebiotic pills during the day & they seems to be keeping things minimal for most of the day.

I just searched this on google because out of nowhere I’ve been bleeding irregularly and having a bad odor from down below . I’m taking more than 3 showers a day because I just hate the smell but it won’t go away. I’m so glad I found this because I was wondering if it was BV or yeast infection because I haven’t been “active” going in 8 months now. Is there anything I can do to help ?

I am literally going through this now. I thought it was BV because I’ve had an issue with it before. But that hasn’t been the case. I also thought to look it up. Which is when I found this.

I am also so glad I came across this thread. I called my dr this morning to get my BV swab results and they were negative. I have been thinking for a while that surely it is the weightloss medication I am on (duromine) that is causing this foul odour, but most other articles online say that it is very unlikely. So glad I’m not the only one experiencing this. I might just put up with it a bit longer until I lose a few more kgs

I stopped taking it due to this issue. I had the same problem . I took it on a Monday an by Thursday had to stop because it dehydrated me severely and cause my urine to stink severely.
