Hey there. I've been pretty worried about this BB sized lump at the very top of my left testical. It feels as if it's in the epididymis area, but I'm not sure if it's the actual epididymis tube itself that the lump is in, or if it's at the very edge of the tube area, and actually on the testical. I'm pretty sure its in the tube area.

The thing doesn't hurt at all, unless I start feeling it and squeezing it, and then I get a minor dull pain as it would normally do if you squeeze parts of your testicals. If I don't mess with it when I wake up in the morning, then I feel no pain or anything all day.

I read up a lot on here on other people's posts before I posted here. From what I read, anything that is generally cancerous really has no feeling- and this BB sized lump, when I squeeze or play with it, it feels as if it were the very top part of my testical and gives that sensation up inside the lower parts of your stomach. So that in itself makes me wonder if it's even a cyst, or a tumor- but rather inflamation of some sort, or an infection up in that tube area.

Another thing that leads me to think this might be an infection of some sort, or if I bruised or hurt something is the fact that I didn't touch or play with the thing for the last 2 days. I woke up this morning, felt it up a bit, and it actually felt as if the bump shrank by a lot- and the area just felt sensitive. But after playing with it, it got irritated, I got that dull feeling back, and the BB sized bump came back.

So I guess what I'm asking if your input on here, what you think might be up- or if you could, elaborate some more on some possible infections or hurt I might have done to this area, and that BB lump swelling showing up as a symptom.

I've read a lot on here, but found veryyy little on any kind of testicular infection symptoms, aside from the "bag of worms symptom"- or the damage caused by possible strain. The bottom line question- can there become swelling of this area in the form of the BB sized lump from hurt or infection?

I just recently quit my job, literally like a week ago, and was in the process of moving when I just found this.. So go figure, I've got no insurance now- and at the least, I'll have insurance in 90 days in starting a new job when I do actually move. I don't have thousands of dollars to pay for ultrasounds, blood tests, etc (in which the hospitals charge the person without health insurance 3x more the cost than they charge the health insurance company. Seriously rediculous.). So I'm just kind of at a loss as to what exactly to do.

At the least, I did sign up to a community clinic to get checked out this Wednesday, but I wanted to know what you guys thought about my symptoms. I found it rather odd that it didn't swell so bad when I stopped messing with it, and that I can feel it when I screw around with it, as if it's attached to a nerve.

I'm 21 years old, and as to some activities that might hurt or strain something down there: I work out a lot with heavy weights, and have rough sex sometimes. I read that you can also get symptoms in the epididymis from a Urinary Tract Infection, and I've done some things such as unprotected anal sex in the last month to my partner (which I know is very unsanitary), but I really haven't had any burning when I pee to really back that up in my mind.

That's as much information I can think of to give you guys at the moment. Of course I'm going to get that doctor's appointment going, but I have a feeling that he's just going to want to get an ultrasound done- and I don't have the money for that; and my wife and I have a pretty shaddy attitude on useless, expensive tests for something that could very well be minor. So another question- how dangerous is it to just monitor the lump for 90 days to see if it doesn't get bigger, and just get it ultrasounded then?

We really don't have the money for it, and it isn't bothering me physically.

So that's about it. Sorry for the lengthy post, but I wanted to be as thorough as possible. Any input that you guys could give me on either of those questions would help me a lot. I was really worried at this, and it's been at the back of my mind every single day, and I've been driving my wife nuts with all of this.

A never answered question. Sorry no one answered. For you and future readers, I'll try to answer this. That BBsized lump might be a testis appendix, or the rounded end of the head of your epididymis, or a small cyst or lump on your testicles' spermatic cords or on the epididymis itself can have cysts and small lumps.

The testis appendix can become torsioned (twisted on itself and cutting off the blood flow just to the very small appendix, not the emergency and full testicular torison which can kill a whole testicle if left untreated for 2 to 6 hours or more with no blood circulation going into the testicle). Testis appendix torsion can be very painful right at that small BB sized lump for a number of days. Since the very small BB sized testis appenidx is just a left over and unsued remnant of undeveloped prenatal organs that later serves no purpose in a male (boy or man), that very small appendix testis can die off and no harm will be caused to a man or boy. It just dies and shrinks away on its own with no treatment needed.

If that BB sized lump is actually the very end of the head of your epididymis, its vital to your fertility and testicle health and is normally sensative to touch just like a testicle is. It would give you those same feelings of pain in your gut that squeezing your testicles does as the epididymis is the only storage and transfer tubing to carry your sperm from your testicles interior factory to your vas deferens cords to deliver sperm to your penis tubing to ejaculate your sperm out when shooting semen during sex. Its normally like a BB at each end of the epididymis and at the top of each testicle. Its part of the long, thick epididymis tube that runs separately but still firmly attached outside and along the testicle's back surface from the top to the bottom of the very middle of the outer back side of each testicle. It feels like one lumpy tube of sperm storage space along the back of each testicle.

Cysts and various other small lumps not on the testis but on and along the spermatic cords are common in men and boys. They can be from past hits and injuries to the ball cords in sports, work, and similar daily hits. They usually don't need any treatment unless they get big enough to be a problem or they hurt a lot. Dr.s don't like to cut open scrotums or do surgery on the epididymis, testicles, or cords unless absolutely necessary as that injury can cause a risk of infertility or sterility on that side's testicle and possibly cause chronic pain.

If a lump or growth is attached right to the testicle itself or growing inside the testicle along the normally smooth front and smooth sides of each testicle, then see a Dr. right away for a scrotal and testicular ultrasound (costs about $80) to get it checked out for testicular cancer, which can be painless and ismostly found growing right on the testicle, not on the spermatic cords or the epididymis.

Go to a sexual health clinic for lower cost care if costs are a problem. Many are low cost or free for teens and young people . Good Luck.

Did you ever find out what it was? Because I'm having the same problem.
