I started taking the pill during my sophomore year of high school not knowing any symptoms. I recently stopped taking it because my boyfriend moved away for a while and I knew that I wouldn't have to worry about pregnancy. Its been about three weeks since I've stopped taking it and about a week ago I started to feel symptoms of a yeast infection. I got out of the shower one morning and I had this horrible burning sensation. I immediately looked on WebMD to see if I had a serious disease. I saw that one of the symptoms I had (Burning) was a symptom for yeast infections but I didn't believe that I had it. About a hour ago I had an itching sensation so I went to wash up and see if it would go away. It didn't. It made it worse and I couldn't figure out what was wrong.
i have never had problems with having recurrent yeast infections until I started taking gildess 1.5/30 I get one now every 3 to 4 weeks and I hate it. I was on loestrin 24 fe which is the name brand for gildess and never had any issues, I don't know what to try now
I so know how all of you feel. I used to take triphasil bc and rarely had any problems unless I took an antibiotic. When I turned 40 my gyno switched me to the bc pills that have the same hormone level the whole month. It has been 7 years and I get one every month. I have seen three different doctors at the same practice and they all tell me the same thing as the person above that it can't be that but like she says above - I KNOW MY BODY! They put me on the 90 day pill and a week before my period comes, BAM - another yeast infection. I am so tired of the doctors not listening to me. I have an appt with a new gyno at a different practice and I hope she listens. Seven years of this is making me crazy! It affects me life so much, oh and I don't eat gluten or sugar, wear cotton undies, been married for 12 years so no multiple partners, work out 4 days a week, get yearly physicals and all my blood work is perfect so it has to be the bc pills, no other explanation. I understand how you all feel. Good luck to us all.
I just started a new birth control about a month ago and I have a yeast infection. It could be that or that I just finished using tampons on my period. I read they can cause yeast infections too and I have gotten them in the past year right after my period so I'm not sure which is the cause yet. Change your tampons regularly if you use one. Ask a pharmacist about taking yeast infection medicine while having your period. I just don't know.
