I am 28 years old, and have been searching the internet for answers now for over a year. I have found a lot of forms with people whom have the same concerns as myself, but there has not been any clear answers given.
In April 2011, I experienced blood in my bowl for the first time, and it was a sagnificant amount to cause alarm. I immediately booked a doctors appointment for the next day, and the doctor laughed at my concern's and said I was to young to have colon cancer. She took her finger, and conducted an oral exam, and advised I had no fissures, or hemroids.
In May 2011 I went for a complete physical exam, all my blood work came back fine, and my pap test was normal.
I continued to examine my bowl movements for the rest of the year, and did not have anymore bleeding. I did have the odd cramping, and passing of gas, however this is normal for anyone.
In January 2012, I experienced the same bleeding after flying home to visit my parents, I immediately went to see my family doctor while I was home visiting, and he ran some blood tests, I am not enemic, everything looked fine, he suggested some suppositories, and I took these, and the bleeding went away.
Its now April 2012 and approximately three days ago I became very ill, with diarreah every 5 minutes for approximately 2 days, I was also vomiting with no appitite. I was admitted into Emerge and I was so dehydrated I was put on Iv's given Zolfan, to help get my re-hydrated. Its been two days since I was in the hospital, and my bowl movements just started to turn back into harder movements, however this morning when I passed my first solid bowl movement in three days, I had bleeding, it was not as much as I had last April or in January however.
I do have cramping in my ovaries as I suffer from PCOS, and the doctor from the Hospital has booked me for a Colonoscopy based on me telling him in January of this year I had blood in my bowl. All my blood tests where again taken just three days ago, and everything looks great, my blood pressure is awesome, and I am by no means losing any weight.
Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? The blood is bright red, I have no tarry stools, or fowl smelling.
I completely agree with what is being done for you now - a camera procedure is what is needed to try and establish if there is anything that is causing this to happen to you. It must be very concerning for you. Despite your age you should have beenthoroughly checked as there is no 'set age' for abnormalities to occur.
I hope that you get a quick appointment for this and that something is found to put an end to your worry - after all even if something is present at least you will know what is causing you these problems,
Best of luck :)
