What is a borderline psychotic? I over heard my mom when she spoke on the phone with our family doctor. I suppose they were speaking of my aunt's son, who is 17 and confined in some neural clinic. He went there a week ago and they still haven't released him. I do not know him that well, aunt never let him out of the house much, but he seemed ok to me. So, can you answer my question?
Maybe you should ask your mother about this. Then again, I assume you are not a young kid, so I will answer you. Term borderline psychotic is used in psychiatry to describe patients whose diagnose cannot be determined. This is due to their unstable conditions. Symptoms that the patients show are characteristic for several mental illnesses and doctors simply cannot determine which one is the right one. Very hard condition, if I may add.
Marshal, I like your answer. I works for a book I am writing about myself who was also diagnosed BP at the age of seventeen. Can I use this small quote and if so, please tell me your name and background even if you are not a professional. Thanx, Jolene.
